That's no all, no that's not all...

Archery is not enough for one day, we're back on the bus for another Sunday Funday:
We got off in downtown Sydney and headed for Darling Harbour. On the way, we noticed David Jones, the large department store, had their window displays filled with flower arrangements. We stepped into the store and it was filled with HUGE floral arrangements. This is the makeup department!

We made our way to Sydney Wildlife. The highlight was attending some of the keeper talks. Molly managed to raise her hand fast and furious to be a volunteer in 3 of the talks! She "found" this cute little lizard they're petting, put the food in the kangaroo's trough and pet the kangaroo. We also learned lots of interesting kangaroo facts - there are 3 times as many kangaroos are people in Australia, they can "wait" to start a pregnancy for up to 12 months while the joey they have in the pouch grows large enough to be on his own, and they cannot walk backwards (neither can Emus, which explains why they are no the coat of arms we saw displayed at the Melbourne Museum). So, if you want to pet one and you're afraid of them kicking or boxing you (Jen), approach from behind. By the time they get in fighting stance, you can be long gone.

Molly pets Donkey, a red kangaroo.

Can you see the look on Charlie's face - classic Charlie!

Diminishing returns to the bird experience, although, this one used Molly's hair as a branch.

Crocodile Hunter!

The cassowary is billed on the outside of the building as the world's most dangerous bird (the billing reminded me a bit of a Westmoreland County fair proclamation I saw once about a snake). It has a 12" claw that it used to attack predators. You can see one behind glass or stand beside the statute. The real one looks just as funky.

We spent the rest of our afternoon getting the $1 vegetable bargains at Paddy's market. It was overwhelmingly crowded, that it tamed the kids down at the end of a long day! I was so busy watching that we didn't trade a kid for a tropical fruit, that I didn't get any pictures. Alas!
