Miscellaneous

Molly wanted to be sure that I posted her favorite sign from our trip. She's reading everything and anything these days and this one made her laugh out loud! A little potty humor goes a long way.

We finally tracked down our zip line photo taken by our guide Ticker. We're all attached to the cloud tower - Molly to my CATT and Charlie to Mike's.

The teachers went on strike on Thursday, in unison with the other public service employees. Mike took the kids to a playground we heard about and then to the Fish Market in Sydney for lunch and to pick up fish for dinner. There wasn't a flake left at the end of the night. Very, very yummy red snapper.

Today I went to the Scholastic book fair at South Coogee Public school (they lost a day of it because of the strike) and purchased some overpriced books and found $5 summer uniforms for Molly at the used uniform shop (hooray!). The mom helping me there was grumpy about the strike because she said that the teachers don't even start negotiating over contracts until November. Anyway, Mike is busy stewing about the School Board in East Lansing, so we don't have time to figure out what side we should be on here. Coincidentally, both kids had a guest=casual=sub teacher today (Friday), the day after the strike.
