Five Finally Arrives Down Under on Thursday the Thirteenth

Last spring Charlie started telling his East Lansing pre-school teacher that he was going to have a birthday in Australia. With her years of experience in teaching, she chalked his ramblings up to imagination (he also told her we drove to Florida for a weekend once). However, this is the real deal!

The morning started with some help opening a Lego set from the Alien Conquest set, oh yea! Something to entertain Charlie on his day off.
He also got a backpack from South Coogee Public School from Aunt Lori and Grandma. He's got a few weeks to figure out how to wear it.

Wombat ornament coming out of its package.

These are a few of his favorite things...noodles with butter and cheese, raw mushrooms and mango. All a means to an end for the chocolate mousse cake to follow!

After we sang for the candle blowing, he pulled on of the pinwheels from the cake and ordered us to sing again each time he blew on the pinwheel. He was the self-named Birthday Boss.
