Playground, Pancakes and Paddy's

Charlie didn't want to miss out on the new playground in Darling Harbour that Daniel and Molly checked out on their spring break, so we spent Friday doing our own tour of the playground equipment and more.

On the stroll over to lunch, we happened upon a fountain we'd never seen before. Charlie was barefooted until we got to the restaurant.
The Rugby World Cup is on now and the Australia Wallabies are playing the New Zealand All Blacks on Sunday night. These screens are set up outside along the Harbour for the big event.

Polly from Naperville IL, the ex-pat Luna Park employee we met on our visit there a couple of weeks ago, recommend the Pancake on the Rocks restaurant. The history is that the man who started it was inspired by a road trip from NY to Miami where he was ate pancakes at HoJos across the USA. Seems like the flour here wasn't suitable for the high quality pancakes he experienced, so he imported Aunt Jemima mix for 10 years.

Charlie ordered the caterpillar and I had the Troppo. In case you're wondering, that's ice cream on both of our LUNCHES and a big ole smile on Charlie's face. To be fair, I had no sprinkles on mine.

We finished the afternoon at Paddy's Market where Charlie purchased a new key chain with the money he snuck on the bus - to distinquish his backpack form Molly's. He chose a kangaroo pen that "boxes" too - Charlie insisted on the one that looked like a red kangaroo - all made in China.
